Unleashing the Potential of Emerging Technologies to Boost Productivity
aboutFour Pillars of Productivity (4POP) Framework
Alignment of Strategy, Operations, Technology, Innovation, and Culture.
Strategy. This is the long term planning of a company that all decisions have to adhere to. Setting strategy is a complex process, but in simplified terms it is the position a company chooses on the axes of product differentiation and cost leadership.
Axiom helps companies to select their strategy position, and then uses it to align the operational, technological, and innovation components needed to maximize productivity.
Operations. These are the more immediate short-term decisions, processes, and implementations that help the company realize its longer-term strategy. From customer relationship management to inventory decisions, operations involve every aspect of the business and must be reevaluated often to ensure innovation is allowed to happen.
Axiom takes on some operational tasks for companies, usually data analytics, which allows it to identify which operations are working, which would benefit from change, and introduce new possible alternatives.
Technology. Although AI is a huge part of a firm’s technology stack, there are many other layers required based on specific business needs. Some of these are physical hardware and others are non-AI software, such as Machine Parts, Business Analytics, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). However, AI is integrated into most other technologies for businesses, so the executives and staff can focus on making decisions, rather than wasting time getting things to work.
Axiom helps with the selection and alignment of technologies, some of which it provides and others that it will assist firms in obtaining. Axiom also provides the necessary expertise to educate clients so they can quickly get the most out of the technologies chosen.
Innovation. There are a lot of misconceptions about innovation, the largest of which is that innovation is something that just happens by chance and is largely out of a company’s control. In reality, innovation is much more likely to occur if the company provides conditions to allow it to happen. There are many techniques a company can employ to churn out innovations on a regular basis, but it requires top-down buy-in for this to happen.
Axiom will help firms implement policies, and potentially make alterations to corporate culture if need be, to allow for a continuous improvement environment that breeds frequent innovation.
Culture. A winning culture and continuous innovation usually go hand-in-hand. There are many kinds of good and winning corporate cultures, but there are some specific requirements for a culture to foster continuous innovation. Encouraging and rewarding productivity-improving ideas needs to be integrated into the corporate culture.
Axiom works with firms to identify any gaps or issues of their corporate culture that may make staff less confident coming forward with improvement ideas.
